Blog » Door sets: The easiest way to fit a door
If you’re looking for the easiest way to fit a door, you may want to opt for a door set when sourcing products for your next project. Developed to achieve super-fast fitting times and superior performance, door sets are the ultimate one-stop shop when it comes to making installation effortless.
Sometimes referred to as a ‘prehung door’, a door set arrives pre-assembled in one unit. Inside the package is everything you need to install a door in record time. Standard door sets usually include the door leaf, door handles, hinges, door stops and door linings. What makes a door set unique is that it arrives with everything routed out and fitted in place – ready to install into the aperture.
When choosing your door set, it’s important to consider how it’ll help you create consistency and the overall aesthetic you have in mind. That’s why we’ve made sure our collection covers a range of styles, with designs suitable for both interior and exterior applications.
Our collection consists of Real Wood and Paint Grade veneer options, as well as solid core feature door lines. Choose from white, moulded, oak or increase abundance of natural light with glazed door sets. We also stock single heritage door sets ideal for adding style points to the exterior of your property.
Fire door sets are often required to comply with building regulations. Handy to know if you manage large scale developments or refurbishments of communal buildings. But they’re also ideal for homeowners who want to create that feeling of extra safety and security.
Homeowners often prefer fire door sets for garages, kitchens and home offices as they help reduce risk of a fire spreading. This is achieved by the addition of intumescent strips. Sometimes called an intumescent seal, this piece of fire-resistant material goes in the frame of a fire door set. Should a fire occur, the strip expands and prevents the fire from spreading.
A fire door set comes with everything you get in a standard fire door set plus intumescent strips which arrive pre-fitted in place. It’s also worth bearing in mind that fire door sets are thicker than standard door sets which are 35mm thick. Our fire door sets are 44mm thick (for FD30) and 54mm (for FD60) and are fitted with a slightly different hinge system too.
Let’s start with delivery. When you order a door set with CLIMADOOR, you’ll immediately benefit from our fast delivery options and free delivery for orders over £750. When your door set arrives, it’s pre-assembled in one package that can easily be handled by a couple of people. This means there’s no need to increase the number of people onsite on the date of delivery.
Then as the old saying goes, time is money. Because door sets take less time to fit, they lead to a saving in labour costs and help cut down on installation time. This is ideal for keeping projects on track and under budget, as well as achieving a consistent finish.
Another point of difference with CLIMADOOR door sets is the way they’re made. All our products are manufactured to the highest standards and tested to meet strict regulations. And for us it’s all about that quality which is why all our products come with a 10 year manufacturer’s guarantee as standard. So you’ll get that initial great value coupled with a futureproof investment too.
