Questions about Trenched White Primed Door Lining

What’s the difference between a door frame and door lining?

A door lining forms part of the overall door opening. It's usually supplied as part of an internal door frame set typically suitable for any type of room including kitchens and bathrooms. A set usually contains the head, jambs and potentially a sill.

A trenched door lining makes installing faster, allowing you to install your internal doors while providing a casing to remove the gap between the door and the stud frame. It also preserves the door by preventing wear and tear.

Our top tip? Add mouldings or architraves to hide gaps around internal door linings and add a decorative look to a doorway.

Why are trenched linings better?

This type of door lining is quicker to assemble. There are grooves in the head of the frame into which the jambs can be inserted. This sets the size to match up with standard door sizes (with the appropriate door clearances). Ideal for reducing hassle when installing your doors or door linings.

Are their benefits to choosing a trenched door lining?

Trenched frame heads mean quick installation and significantly less woodworking. Great for saving time and money during multiphase projects, home renovations and commercial developments including office complexes and public buildings.
